Thanks to push-button start, I don't got shit to worry about either.
Now I just have to play the waiting game to see if Mazda is affected by all of this Takata crap.

These are beautiful. Thank you sir for this great start to my day.

I really hope this makes it to the FP. Absolutely hilarious.
Also, you have some very wonderful cars. What VW and Honda do you have?

I have nothing to fear, #pushbuttonstart

Someone please put a SAAB ignition Vine in there. I would, but I don't have a Vine. XD

Well... I ran into a problem with the ignition turning off on my Saab three times. First time was about 30mph in town. Buddy hit it as he was reaching for a bag in the back seat. Figured it out before we hit 20mph. Second time was at about 70mph on the highway with my then-GF and we decided to try... uhhh... yeah. Freaked out, but figured it out very quickly. Decided to try again about 2 minutes later... ended the same way. Called it quits on that.

I know an S2000 would fail this test - we've had a few cars die on course due to the driver hitting the key with their knee.

Danger Knee Shutoff? Silly world, you don't know where to put the key, BORK!

This is fantastic. Flying shoe in the mini had me losing it.

Oh my god! if you accidentally bump this you'll have no power steering, airbags or power to drive away! The federal government should totally fix this somehow!

Crap. Just recovered from a seizure. Need. Video. Game. Warning. =P

That button position looks dangerous. If I were to extend my middle finger, whilst selecting third gear...

Our SHO locked up a primary turbo this weekend while my wife was taking the kid to the swimming pool. At only 70k miles. She loves the car, hope this thing isn't going to turn into a huge headache. :(((((((((
![]() 06/16/2014 at 10:42 |

Well...I guess I should test this...

What if you were trying to hit the hazard button and hit a bump?
![]() 06/16/2014 at 10:45 |

Second time was at about 70mph on the highway with my then-GF and we decided to try... uhhh... yeah.
Best argument against buying a Saab that I've ever heard.

Primary turbo? It's a twin turbo, not sequential or compound. So probably a front or a rear turbo?
Do you have extended warranty? Otherwise I imagine you still have a shot at Ford at least picking up part of the tab on the repairs. Because that shouldn't fail that early, I'd love to know what caused it to lock up though...

Hey! You stole my shoe!
![]() 06/16/2014 at 10:46 |

And for bench seats? God, I miss when you could get bench seats in something that wasn't a pick-up.

Meteor flames however...

I can't tell you how many times I've stalled a motorcycle in the middle of an intersection. Thank god Harleys can be restarted in gear with only the clutch pulled in.

Lets not talk about those days :(

It's gotta be an oil line thing.
![]() 06/16/2014 at 10:52 |

In all seriousness, why do their airbags still stop working if the engine dies?!

I've never ridden a bike that can't be started in gear with the clutch in. My GSX-R just cuts off if you drop the kickstand while in gear
![]() 06/16/2014 at 10:56 |

Maybe, the F150's are having trouble with buildup in the Intercooler being sucked into the turbo's. Highly recommended to install a catch can. But since this a SHO (with the same engine) I am curious what the cause is.
![]() 06/16/2014 at 10:57 |

It has nothing to do with the engine not running.
If you stalled your car, run out of gas, or the engine quit on its own, the key would still be in the "on" position, and the airbags would still work.
Switching the ignition off (either by knee, or the bad switch in the Cobalt) also kills the engine.... but also kills everything else but the radio.

Most of the time (I think every bike I've ridden) will let you restart with just the clutch if you stall it. However, I have ridden bikes before that won't start cold (i.e. you didn't just stall it) without being in neutral.
The kickstand is a good one too. I took a motorcycle class that had a bike (Rebel 250 I think) with a bad kickstand interlock. It wouldn't crank but we could bump start it so the instructor and I pushed it up to as fast as we could, I jumped on and bumped it. I was the only one he let ride that bike. Good times.

Don't forget that you are also directed into the nearest tree when you lose power.

If you were serious and actually wondering on my Nissan you can push the button all you want and it don't do nothing while driving.

because in a life or death situation, I want the *radio* to be the one thing that works.
![]() 06/16/2014 at 11:44 |

How about the Radiohead?

It goes in tomorrow morning first thing, I will keep you posted. ( I just assumed they were sequential) It is definitely the rear turbo that was squealing and then went silent. Car runs and drives right now, just like a slug. Sucks.

If I try this with my Datsun Z, I'm losing a kneecap.

You might want to put a disclaimer in case someone decides to test this, only to get a nice gash.

I ENCOURAGE IT!

I nearly tore the damn ignition switch apart before realizing the kickstand was down and I was in gear. So fucking glad I tried to push it and realized it wasn't going anywhere
